About Braille Literacy Canada

Cathy Ausman - Director

Representing the W. Ross Macdonald School for the Blind. Served on the board 2013-2019 and rejoined in 2021.

Cathy Ausman is a braille resource teacher at W. Ross Macdonald school for the blind in Brantford, Ontario, and a braille user. Over the years, with the advancements of technology, she has heard many discussions on the importance/necessity of braille. This has always been very concerning to her and she wants to ensure that braille is valued just as important for blind and low vision people as print is for their sighted peers.
